Game Description:[]
One of the most ambitious designs produced by the Galactic Republic, the Excubitor-class Star Destroyer was envisioned to be a complete replacement to the Venator in service during the Clone Wars; a blockade-leader and blockade-buster carrier-battleship capable of defeating an entire Separatist fleet singlehandedly. Unfortunately, the funds necessary for its procurement were to deliberated for too long on the Senate floor, and the idea was eventually abandoned after the transition to the Galactic Empire, with only one prototype constructed and left unused. Interestingly, despite its proposed designation as a star destroyer, its size, firepower, and complement would have easily set it into the battlecruiser category under the Anaxes War College system. Game play[]
Like most carriers the Excubitor Class Star Destroyer relies on its Fighters and Bombers to the bulk of its damage, Though it can hold its own against tougher ships if it needs to with its many Turbolasers. The Game play of the Excubitor is pretty much the same as the venator class expect your going to be targeted a lot more.
The Excubitor can be played like a normal carrier or as a battleship. It has many Turbolasers and torpedoes Including 4x Super Large Turbolasers which can allow you to chip away at others ship's shield and hit points.You can also adapt the normal carrier plays style of either hiding behind debris or sitting 100km away from everyone else.But if you have to you can win in a fight against most ships except the Titan, DOS, and other High health Ships. A way to attack high health ships is to stay 60km away as they don’t have the amount of range you have. Use it to your advantage.
Counters[]
Rushing: A good counter to the Excubitor is just having your teammates set their fighters to defend and then rushing it as it can not handle multiple enemies very well.
Sniping: If you can get your teammates to protect you can slowly chip away at the HP of the Excubitor.
This can be done with ships that have long range weapons or super weapons such as the Viery/Motcon, Onager, or Sagittarius
Vesuvio: Like all other big ships the Excubitor is weak against the Vesuvio though it can not be one shotted like the Carriers before it. It would take at least two burst from a Vesuvio to kill a Excubitor.
